do i have to have a certain motherboard to overclock my cpu and what type of ram do i need for a lga 1150 socket

It depends on the CPU and motherboard. If you're going to be using/building an Intel based machine with the LGA 1150 socket, you will need a Z series motherboard and a K series CPU to overclock. As far as the RAM is concerned, DDR4 is recommended by Intel. The specific modules that have been verified to work with the motherboard will vary by the motherboard, and motherboard manufacturers.

how can i check to see if my motherboard is a z series?

It is not a Z-series motherboard. The chipset is right after "ASUS." "H110."
