Asus CROSSHAIR VI confirmed for Zen!

Saw this on the Asus forums and thought it was pretty cool as it's their highest end AMD board series. I had the CROSSHAIR V FORMULA Z. Nice board indeed.

Also here's a little visual history on the second greatest motherboard line ever...after the WS series!

Nah, that's the GPU for most gamers and the CPU for editors. The MoBo only has to be good enough to work fine with the rest of the build

The motherboard is still the foundation for those things...well technically the case. Then again you don't need a case to have a working rig so motherboard wins.

But to your argument. Motherboards matter a lot. If a board was simply just a board than they would all cost the same. Some boards can't OC. Some have dual gigabit lan vs internal wifi. Board selection is important.

It's also about time EVGA stops putting red on all their highest end products.

Indeed. RGB PCB solder, thermal paste, display cables and wifi antennae are very in right now.

Nope, It's 2012 or 2013, as that's the newest of the motherboards in the pics.

Also, why would they ruin a motherboard with silly, ugly, tacky, Las-Vegas-instant-marriage-like, meaningless lights?

Indeed. The future isn't what it used to be :P

Still, "people" is just part of the market. No reason for every model to target the same segment. Why sell to some, or even most, if you can sell to all? ;)

Well yeah, I don't think there's a single company that sells exclusively RGB stuff (yet).

Luckily. But, remember, I was just replying to the logic "2016=>rgb leds".

Nah most features on a high-end motherboard go wasted and so is people's money on it.

You can bet that the Crosshair VI series will have RGB, at least some of them.

I don't remember now, but they may have already done it to the Sabertooth R3. Ah, who am I kidding, there is no chance their flagship AMD motherboard for gamers doesn't come with flashy things all over...

The highest end Z170 board and best, depending on what kinda user you are doesn't have all that junk. It's another reason I've always loved WS boards. Beautiful quality without the ugly flash ruining them.

Definitely agree. Though if we're being picky, Asus totally ripped that heatsink design for the VRMs off from ASRock's Z97 boards :D

This Asus Z87 begs to differ :D

But WS=WorkStation. The Crosshair line is targeting gamers (isn't it a RoG board?), and judging by the latest Aura models, I think Asus' current views on the gamer market are pretty clear :P

Let's see what else they do for AM4, in any case ;)

I'm sure the CROSSHAIR will have all the garbage cause as you mentioned...it's a RoG board.

Just saying that there are other ultra high end options. WS boards are really just as good for gaming though. They overclock well and are of the highest quality.

The big difference is of course in the feature set and bios. The way I look at is that the RoG boards don't offer much extra that I actually care about.

I pretty much take advantage of everything on my WS boards though. Whether the dual gigabit lan, on board USB ports, extra storage options, or other goodies...I just find them perfect for my needs

Comments like this give me a bit of a headache really....

there are 2 important things you shouldn´t cheap out on.

And that are the Motherboard and the PSU.

Those are the fundament for a good working system.

No offense of course.

I do have to say that motherboards in general are getting better and better now days.

Its not like back in the days with ECS motherboards that components litterly fell off the pcb,

if you just stare to long at it.

However there are still quality diffrences.
