How would the computer run?

Do you need an OS?

You can use windows 10 for free without a activated key, just go through the installation and there a option "I don't have a key" and it installs.

How about Windows 8?

Windows 10 is hell for me >.>

No theres a procedure you have to take

Go to windows media installer on Microsoft's website and get a extra usb drive

Install windows media installer into your USB Drive

Plug in usb drive while in bios

Pick usb as boot drive

Procede to installation procedure

Profit111

Do note everything on the USB will be erased when installing media installer.

It just says OS is not detected. other than the BIOS/UEFI, there is no interface.

Just get one. Better support with cortana, skype, etc. It syncs all of your settings across devices. Your passwords update online so if you change a password on one device, as long as they are all connected to the internet, you can use that one password.

An operating system simply allows a user to install and use programs, such as Microsoft Office. The user must either purchase the software, or in the case of freeware, download it from the internet. It's pretty basic level stuff.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

Not everyone is cut out for Linux. I use Linux because I understand it. If someone doesn't know what a computer would be like without an operating system, excuse me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they would understand the workings of Linux. Linux can be easy or hard, but it's not for everyone.

Windows 8 is worse in every possible way :/

Without an operating system you can get to the bios or to a "no bootable media found" message. Modern computers don't allow you to load binaries directly anymore.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

To any Linux gamers on here, how well has it worked for you all?

I know that there's certain programs that let you run non-Linux games on it, but how well does the performance suffice?

Only looking for a temporary solution until I can afford a windows key.

Just get Windows and don't activate it until you can afford to. It shouldn't be any severe draw backs. I'd much rather have Windows for gaming.

Linux in general Gaming takes a decent Hit Steam OS machines always ran games better on windows so it didnt make much sense on top of many reasons.  You get more out of your hardware typically if you just use windows and do as others have stated use the "Free" Version
