MX Master VS R.A.T. 3

Hello everyone.

I just found a deal on Amazon for the MX Master. Currently I have the R.A.T 3, I've had it for a few years, and I really like it. I mainly use my computer for gaming, but I recently starting video editing, photoshop etc. Would the MX Master be an upgrade or just a waste of money?

Thank you in advance :)

I think it would be just a waste of money. A mouse is a mouse, and if you really like your mouse why change it?

I've seen many YouTubers saying this is the best mouse for editing and stuff. I haven't had the chance to hold it in my hand, so I don't know if the buttons on the side are comfortable for me. Maybe the side scrolling would be helpful, but I guess you're right.

it can take a while to learn a new mouse, if you dont need to switch and like your current mouse then dont bother switching

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I love my MX Master for browsing and Excel work. I don't edit, but I imagine it's a similar work flow.

I absolutely hate it for gaming. I'd have to switch to my other mouse if I wanted to play anything.

If you have the money, go for it. It's great. Just make sure it's not your only mouse.

Noooo. A mouse is definitely not just a mouse. The more expensive ones are indeed a lot nicer, as are ones of different weights and build materials.

If you really like your current mouse why do you need to change it? Mice are not like hardware that will give you an objectively better performance - it's not an "upgrade" as the benefits of each mouse are subjective.

If you're happy with your RAT 3 then I see no reason to buy the MX Master.
