That looks quite promising actually depending on how it's price relative to 290x.

of course these are still only 'leaks'

Honestly, I am from this point on completely disregarding everything coming from "videocardz.com". Everything they post there is 100% rumor based and it hypers everyone up for no reason. Weren't they the ones advertising the NDA lift was a week or two ago and everyone believed them?

I'm happy with the benchmarks, but come on, the whole site is shady.

If there are reference cards with a bios switch... may be. But it depends if they lasered off the cores. Also with speed binning the cores disabled in the 290 may be defective which would lead to unstable results.

My PC specs; Processor: Intel i5 2500K @4.6GHz, Graphics card: Sapphire AMD R9 Nano 4GB DD Overclocked @1050MHz Core and 550 MHz Memory. I've seen people say $449. It is really one of the only prices that make sense for it. The 380x is $300 and the 290x is $549, so it really only can be $400-449.

Without a mention of screen resolution, graphics settings used and clock speeds, I'm calling bullshit on this so called leaked benchmark. The Facebook watermark isn't exactly helping credibility, either.

I agree. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if the 290 was within 10% of the 290x. Assuming the leaked specs are right there isn't a gigantic difference between them. I hope they both have the same stock PCB.

Just what I tought, the diffirence is the same as between 7950 and 7970 - minimal, but significantly lower price.
