I've tried optimized defaults and fail safe defaults, no difference.

Willa windows 7 key work with windows 10?

No, you needed to do the upgrade back when it was free.

Right now you still can do it but you need to use a different method

It doesn't say anything about getting an ISO file or installing via USB from what I can tell?

Oh, it needs to be upgraded first, then you can clean install.

Seems like you need to clean install windows 7 anyway first to get the PC to actually work...

PC will not boot at all, just loops endlessly when I press the powerbutton.

This happened after a BIOS update.

Sometimes it get's to the bios screen logo "press del to enter setup", but no matter which button I press it turns black and starts looping again.

I've tried resetting CMOS. Everything should be intact. Tried 2 different PSU's.

Your BIOS might be corrupted from the update process. What motherboard are you currently using?

I'm using the Gigabyte Z68AP-D3.

I did the bios update since I couldn't get into Windows OR CLEAN INSTALL WINDOWS, had exhausted every other option and idea.

Posted about 3 different topics about the issue, none which helped so I figured I'd give the bios update a shot.

1) why did you update your BIOS???

2) check if your moatherboard has a BIOS flashback USB port (most asus motherboards do) or a dual BIOS switch

and if it doesn't then it's bricked and you need to buy a new motherboard.

The BIOS is the last thing to change(as far as flashing goes) when you have a problem with installing Windows as that's not usually the issue.

  1. I felt like I exhausted every other option.
  2. I'll see if it has one!

Your motherboard might have a switch on it due to having DualBIOS technology.

I confirmed windows wasn't the issue beforehand.

  • Tried about 3 different HDD's
  • 2 HDD's with windows preinstalled just to see
  • Installing windows via DVD and USB (x2), both W10, 8 and 7.
  • Swapping CPU
  • Four different RAM modules

Did you try changing your boot order?

I can't get into bios, it loops with a black screen.

The farthest I can get is basically the Motherboards logo but nothing happens when I press keys, it just turns black and loops again.

Right, but before you flashed the BIOS.
