Do you use a Mac or a Hackintosh?

Mac. 

 

But I really like OS X on Desktop.

Remove your GPU. use -V -GraphicsEnabler=no PCIRootUID=0.

Whatever they did, it now takes hours upon end to convert damn video files. It's taking on average over 8 hours to convert 40 minutes of video.

Seems faster in general on a friend's laptop. But I have a mid-late 2009 white macbook. Will it speed up mine or slow it because it's just that little bit too old?

Well that is new to me. going to update tomorrow at uni. will report back.

Don't update if your on 10.6.8, that is already the best OSX version, just stick with it.

It shows the apple logo and hangs there. 

 

Booting in Verbose mode reveals nothing. 

 

I even tried it using the integrated graphics

Boot to verbose mode again, and see what it hangs on at the end.

 

For general gray screen issues, follow this: it will fix your issue if it is software in nature http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570

TBH that is the one thing I do like about OS X, so easy to troubleshoot.

Just downloaded and installed. I can't seem to figure out what they changed.....

 

What do you guys thing about it?

 

Also I came from Mountain Lion so that is what I am comparing it to.

(i think they big changes can be see it in the iPhone 5s and 5c camera)  :ph34r:

CPU = A10 6800K (@4.3Ghz) / GPU = HD 8670D (@844mhz/ram@1866mhz) - 2016 ≠ Dual Cores - why learn Linux ? - OLD intel x4 cpu (Q6600) + amd HD 7950 - this is what i think on watts x dollar cost - CPU "bottlenecks" only start to show "at the super high end cards" (like the 390) if you have a 4 cores CPU
