Nokia's first tablet; The Nokia Lumia 2520.

Now I feel like Mr. Nokia with these threads but after watching the Nokia World livestream I thought everyone should know about Nokia's first tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520.

So here are the specs on this thing

  • 10'1 1920x1080p display
  • Snapdragon 800
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 6.7mp camera
  • Windows RT 8.1
  • 615 grams of weight
  • LTE

And all this will cost $500 and be exclusive to AT&T.

A quote from Nokia from The Verge article

Nokia says the Lumia 2520 should get 11 hours by itself, so it’s possible this device will reach 16 hours in total with the cover attached.

I love Nokia's design to the Lumia series, my god it's gorgeous.

What are your thoughts? If any.

I am still not fan of the functionality on phones and tablets but maybe I will check it out ;)

Also: What is the deal with it being exclusive for AT&T only?

I'm not sure, I'm guessing AT&T paid some money for an exclusive. Though it may be able to be bought without a wireless plan, but to be honest I don't really even understand why a lot of tablets even have carriers.

If it has gorilla glass V2 i might be a really interesting choice.

I wonder if it will be possible to switch the OS for a linux distrib or something like that. Wait and see.

That looks really good. But why with the Windows 8.1 RT T_T

Give everyone full windows 8.1!

nope not worth it

Give everyone full windows 8.1!

Windows RT is required because it is less demanding - full windows 8.1 will result in a very laggy experience which will force them to use a faster cpu which requires more cooling which will make the tablet thicker which defeats the purpose of a tablet

Looks great accept for the large black edges around the display.

Might be an issue for people with smaller hands.

They nailed the design on the first try. Looks like a winner :)

Hopefully this latest round of RT tablets are a lot better than they were before.

I find this really weird that this was released after the Microsoft Buyout, I have a feeling this is a device that slipped right before the buyout. Though this will be interesting to see if Microsoft decide to make a cheaper version of surface in the near future.
