FX 8300 with Dual 480's?

So I Ordered the FX 8300 (AMD 8 core(Really 4 Cores) and then kinda hesitated. Will this bottleneck two 480's?

Bottlenecking depends on the game but i would upgrade the CPU before getting 2 480's

Would the Bottleneck be THAT bad? Because there's bound to be a bottleneck somewhere in every build right?

I need a new Mobo & CPU pretty soon because my current system crashes way too often. Plus it's a crap CPU and I'm pretty sure its bottlenecking my 480. I have an Athlon 860k. Yeah I didn't know what I was doing..

Then that CPU is going to be very problematic. Go for a Skylake CPU. Believe me, you won't regret it.

That's going to be really tough trying to get a Mobo that also supports Crossfire with my budget ..

Is it worth just dealing with the bottleneck? I'd really rather not return my 8300.

That's unfortunate, but I can assure you that you will regret buying an AMD CPU very quickly. It's your money, but I know from experience that cheaping out on your CPU is a seriously bad idea.

An FX-8350 bottlenecks a single RX 480, adding a second one only introduces a larger problem.

it's a bad purchase...it was a poor choice back in 2011-2012 when it launched...you can just imagine how bad of a choice it is at this point 5 years later...performance is sub par and unless you paid like 130$ for it INCLUDING THE MOTHERBOARD you're making a mistake.

 

Get an i5-6500 and a cheap H series board instead, you'll get way better performance, much better features, lower power consumption, heat and noise etc. it's just plain better.

 

Also, for your information i used to run an FX-8320 overclocked to 4.6ghz (insanely hot and crazy OC) and it was STILL limiting my GTX 780 in MANY games (a GPU that is even slower than a SINGLE RX 480) also i strongly advise against going crossfire...a single more powerful GPU is always a much better choice.

I just don't have the money for an i5. The 8300 can't be so bad that it bottlenecks just one card right? Should I just do this now and when I get the other 480 I'll also upgrade the CPU? I currently own the 8300 (arriving today) and one RX 480. 

 

So far with this 860k (Sucks butt) it can run games pretty decently with my 480.

 

OR, should I buy something like an i3 6100? then possibly upgrade the cpu alone later? (Assuming its the same socket because I'm not up to date with intel cpu's)

I'd really like to crossfire, I know that not every game supports it or very well, but I'd like to try something new. Plus its a good value considering I own one card right now.

I only have $200 to spend on an upgrade and I have to upgrade because of my main PC has died. (860k causes random crashes and it sucks in general)

Depends on the resolution, and the games you play.

At 1080p there will be a bottleneck.

On 4K not so much.
