Handheld Linux Machine?

You mean like a cell phone? I suppose if you were good about it, you could probably get a custom one off flavor of your favorite Distro running on a cellphone.
Here's a good model with a thumbsize touch qwerty keyboard: Galaxy Note 7 (no I'm not joking, it's a really nice phone, they just need to get the battery issue worked out)
Here's a *decent* model with a physical keyboard: Blackberry Passport (again not joking, it's very hard to find a good cellphone with a mechanical keyboard)

If none of those meet your needs, you really only have two alternatives: A custom board that you design, or a raspberry pi.
