Guest

Guys i need help on upgrade or buy new.

My current rig(very verry verry old): i3 3240 3.4 Ghz

                                               asus h61m-k

                                               g.skill ageis 1600 (4Gb x1)

                                               wd cavier blue 1TB 7200Rpm 64m cache

                                                no gpu

should i upgrade or buy

but if i upgrade, what should i buy for the upgrade.

(thinking about Gtx 1050 ti, 4gb x2 g.skill 1866 and a 120gb ssd)

if it a buy new what should i buy.(if you guys have time give me a link to the rig you think is best to play game)

Id get 16gb of ram(2x 8gb)

A quad core cpu

ANd a rx 480.

You will probably also have to get a new psu.

Your thinking around 400.

If you spend the extra 200-300 on a new rig, but perofrmance wise your getting anouther 0-10% depending on the game

What is your monitor's resolution? If it is 1080p, then I suggest you get a GTX 1060 6GB. If lower, get the 3GB version or wait for a 1050 Ti to come out.

Get a 6 Gig 1060, another stick of the same ram, and an SSD. maybe a same-generation i5.

I would say get an i5 3570, or an ivy bridge i7, if you want a cpu upgrade, it will still be as good as the skylake cpus since intel hasn't improved much.

3. SanDisk SSD Plus 120GB (My personal favorite)

There's no point in upgrading your CPU since your current one is pretty high-end in the LGA 1155 socket category.

By the way, are you doing photoshop, video editing or stuff like that? If yes, then you'd probably want to upgrade to a quad-core. if not, then your current i3-3240 will do fine with just gaming, browsing and doing documents. (Basic stuff, literally)

Intel hasn't improved about 10% per generation for the past few, even most  second gen core cpus like the 2500k/2600k are still comperable to haswell/skylake cpus.
