Not knowing budget and preference... I'll state my own favourites.

 

Panasonic HTX7

 

Bose AE2W

 

Both sound clear to me, but just different price points. Had the HTX7s since I was 16 (now 25) and no issues at all. Hi and Lo sound lovely, and lo isn't too deep and distorting.

AE2W are on-par but more about Bose nametag and bluetooth / 3.5mm interchange-ability.

I'm in the same boat.  I can't tolerate in ear (buds etc) and prefer closed headphones cause i'm planning to use them at work and i need to not have the sound leak issues.  I've tried and mostly liked california headphones least expensive model though my head is large enough that the clamping force was a bit much.

I'm not looking for Gaming headfones and if i want a mic i'm willing to get  a mod mike

Fisher clones great sound stage for closed

Cals but they feel flimsy thin cord and also great sound stage they are denon clones
