Powerful laptop under 2200$

Hi everyone, 

I'm looking for an 15/17" laptop, work load will be gaming and some content creation. Please suggest me a good one below 2200$.

I assume you use USD. This is a very nice laptop that will handle content creation and gaming with ease.

It's got GTX 1070 for under $2k and some nice specs along with it. Dunno much about the thermals in this one tho due to it's lightness

i7-6700HQ is pretty standard for most gaming laptops these days but yes, I do agree with you on the cooling from what you show. Although I've read a number of reviews and said cooling is not an issue

I highly dislike Asus G752 on a design perspective. The cooling is nice and is quiet, but I'm absolutely disgusted by it's design aspects in chassis and bios. You can't take apart the laptop with breaking warranty and you can't repaste the laptop without disassembling the WHOLE laptop. The Bios is absolutely disgustingly locked down and even 3rd party bios makers can't make it better. 

 

Alienware 15/17 could be good, but idk. Haven't been released yet.

G752 needs physical modding for proper cooling to take place. A full strip down is needed to repaste the crap paste they use too. I wouldn't suggest it.

 

I'll go with the suggestions from Pendragon above, though no telling if the GT73VR is going to be under $2200 with a single 1070.

 

But for the content production, I'll say the P750DM2 or P775DM2 will be best with the 1070 for content creation, due to the 6700K. I suggest either HIDevolution.com or LPC-Digital (resells Sager; but will apply Prema mods on firmware and gpu via remote flash once released). You want the Prema mods.

This may come across a little harsh, but my experience with MSI is rocky at its best. Don't get me wrong, my GT72 is an absolute pleasure to use when it works, but their customer service is a nightmare. If you need to get it fixed, you'll have pay for RMA shipping even while under warranty! I've had 2 RMAs in my first 9 months, one being the whole system because 3 keys on the keyboard decided to stop working (leaving me without a computer for a month), and the other was a faulty power brick. Also, right out of the box I had (and still have) some terrible backlight bleed. I thought they'd fix that too on its first RMA, but they didn't.

 

MSI might give you a better cost-to-performance ratio, but from what I've seen, they're not ashamed to cut corners. If I could go back, I'd just pay the "ASUS tax" if it meant better reliability.

 

However, if you're an experienced modder and know your way around the guts of a laptop, then MSI would be a great choice.

 

And keep in mind that, for the most part, this is just my experience. I'm sure other people have much better luck than me and get a perfect system right out of the box.

MSI doesn't have a better cost-to-performance ratio. It's one of the more expensive gaming laptops in the world. Asus isn't much better and I would say are worse in alot of regards. The systems themselves aren't bad, just their anti-enthusiast mentality that pisses me off.

MSI is not better cost-to-performance, and ASUS is a FAR worse machine with much more disgusting support.
