SSD prices after 6 months?

Q2 2017 is when 7700k and other Kaby Lake and ZEN processors come out plus AMD VEGA should be out in Q2 2017. Becuase many people are gonna build thierPCs at that time are the SSD prices gonna go down? if so, how much do you think a 500 gb ssd will cost ?also how much did a 500 gb ssd cost exactly  months ago?

Why would they go down due to kabylake/zen?

 

ssd prices have been steadily declining, but there won't be a massive decrease in price by then.

If they would alter the price, it's probably up because people will buy it anyways.

Either way, PCPartpicker is a great site to track product's price over time. For example, a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO:

You see the lowest prices are pretty much equal over time, but a couple dollars difference over time.

I doubt there will be any sort of big spike in system building next year.  SSD prices probably will continue to drop as densities increase.  500gb probably will be the 'mainstream' size in Q2 or Q3 of next year.

Not everyone building a computer will get an ssd, and take an economics class, higher demand will mean INCREASED price. Basic supply and demand principles.

 

But ssds are independent from cpus.

 

Just think of it like cookies and milk, they go together, but if people go out and buy lots of cookies it doesn't mean the price of milk will change.

Well, SSD's are much cheaper nowadays, due to the fact that NVME drives, with the PCI-e and M.2 drive format ruling the market for performance and portability. Not surprising that 3,5 inch SATA SSD's are getting cheaper because of the increasingly small and more powerful competitors :P

You can get a 1TB SSD for $600. That's how much a 500gb one was in 2014
