You're telling a company to get rid of their own thing for something else that's more common, that is like saying how DP shouldn't exist at all as HDMI is used by A LOT more people (not just computers you know, there's something called TVs which have HDMI as the standard input) :P. DP can handle higher resolutions and frame rates but so what? DP is less common meaning more people are going to be using HDMI. Think about how many posts we get in displays with people saying they're using HDMI and can't select 120hz+ on their monitors or 1440p.
