Hi.

I have been asking before about i7 5930k vs i7 5820k vs i7 5700k vs i7 5800k, and many of you were saying  i7 6700 or i7 6800k.

So i'm just asking one more time if I should get the 6700k or 6800k. Most of my time i'll be using it for gaming or video rendering, but mostly gaming.

Maybe you also have some suggestions about some motherboards (LGA 2011-3 or LGA 1151) maybe also some suggestions regarding RAM?

Thanks in advance ;D

i have a 5820K and i love it. i've got it over clocked to 4.3 Ghz without trouble. the 6800k is the new generation, but the performance gains are minimal in comparison to the 5820k. the 6700k does get better gaming performance than the 5820k or the 6800k due to it being a newer generation than even the 6800k (confusing i know). if you are mostly gaming the 6700k will save you some money for sure

If you're heavily invested into video rendering, you'd be better off with a hexacore i7 5820K/i7 6800K as opposed to a quad core i7 6700K. If you're not, the i7 6700K will do just fine. With 4 cores + 8 threads, it ain't no slouch and it'll perform slightly better when it comes to gaming.

Don't get a i7 5930K because you won't need the extra PCIe lanes. The i7 5700K and i7 5800K don't exist.

If you're getting a i7 5820K or i7 6800K, I suggest the ASUS X99-A (II). If you're getting the i7 6700K, I suggest the ASUS Z170-A. I will say that motherboard selection ultimately depends on the features you need and what you like the look of best.

As for RAM, 16GB of 3000MHz RAM should be enough. G.Skill's TridentZs are a good choice.
