New global roaming service in croudfunding.

So I found this new croudsfunding (not kickstarter apparently) project that promises to offer reasonable rates when roaming just by applying a sticker on your sim card.

The rates are not really that great and they don't appear to offer prepaid bundle plans but it definitely looks better than simple roaming, so we have to wait and see.

Project page:

I guess there is quite some movement in the roaming scene after T-mobile and the plan to abolish roaming charges in the EU.

The rates are still far too high for it to be worthwhile.

I'm still holding out for global WiFi (pay subscription, accessible anywhere across the globe), unlimited data and no roaming charges, where everything (including Phone services) is done through the internet.

Fibre optics might make that possible one day.

The rates aren't really that bad... 22c to send a text to Australia from the US? That's fine with me. In fact I think it's ~25c within Australia if you aren't on a plan that gets you unlimited text or some other deal.

Unfortunately I don't travel internationally very often so it wouldn't be worth it for me but if someone did, it'd be quite useful.
