4k 144Hz ready build?

Yo

Firstly, I am a newb to all of this, this will only be my 3rd build, so I might be wrong about alot of stuff, feel free to correct me.

So im thinking about putting a new build together, and as demanding as I am, I still am that little boy dreaming of 4k 144Hz. And from what ive read (Asus), we are now seeing lights at the end of this ever dark tunnel. Buuuut still another year I bet. Considering we need Dp 1.3 (?).

My question is, would it be possible as of today, to build a computer ready for when this day comes, and go 1440p 144Hz or so, till then? Im guessing we will have to go about this in theory, since people dont really know yet. Or would I need to build a new computer then, when this holy grail of monitor is at my doorstep? Again, in theory? Wait, or build now?

Thanks, in advance for any reply, and sorry for the long post, horrible english and newb'ism.

Yes, 2 Titan X Pascal in SLI come close, but only in SLI optimized games, which generally need good optimization.

I would say wait until we actually have those monitors. Then we might have single GPU´s that can handle 4k at higher refresh rates that don´t cost 2600$ like a pair of Titans.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X PBO GPU: Asus Strix RTX 3090 OC Mobo: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz CL17

CPU Cooler: Corsair H150i Capillex Storage: Samsung 980 Pro and 970 Evo 1TB Samsung 860 EVO 1TB Crucial MX300 525GB WD Black 2TB PSU: Corsair HX1000 Case: Corsair 500D SE RGB 6x LL120

Dual 1080s could not push 144 at 4k, so not really possible right now. 144 at 1440 would still need dual 1080s. So there you go, two 1080s and a mobo and cpu that can handle them.

If you know why did you ask if it was possible to build a PC that would be ready for when that monitor exists?
