NANO text editor wont let me save my script

so i am trying to make a program launch on boot and i found a way that should work with my rPI but now NANO text editor wont let me save and i just get the error: "Error wrighting /ect/init.d/*filename*: no such file or directory" and i dont know what to do about it, i used  

sudo nano /etc/init.d/*filename*

to get into NANO and then i put in the code and the when i go to save and exit i get the error. if someone knows how to fix this that would be just awesome :D thanks for any help and any replies! 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

if you find this thread, ignore it. i messed up the filepath
