Linus double or triple Internet speed video

In the video Linus shows a way to connect 2 Internet networks together with a box to increase his Internet speed. I was wondering if there was a max speed to that. Would I be able to get a second gigabit fiber connection and bond them together for 2 gigabit speeds?

Depens of what your doing.

 

You normally can't download one file twice as fast, but you can download 2 files twice as fast.

 

That video was for LAN file transferrs with SMB3 on windows 2012/8 or newer

To answer your question, Edzel tweeted about this and the response was:

1: iTel's bonding service only supports bonding connections with speeds lower than 900mbit/s

2: Even if they could bond gigabit connections the bonding cost would be massive. Like, multiple thousands of dollars per month.

So it would be a better choice to just get a 2 gigabit service for $300 a month? I was thinking that I could save $100 a month by getting 2 one gigabit plans for $100 a month each

The service in the video can't bind gigabit connections, so you'd have to shell out for a 2 gigabit connection if you wanted that speed.

I'm thinking of bonding my 0.45MB/s  with another so I can at least achieve one meg down :'(
