I broke fedora while trying to install the propietary Nvidia driver

So I was following This Guide to install the proprietary Nvidia driver on Fedora 24 with the 4.6 kernel. I got the part where it said to reboot to runlevel 3. After rebooting i got these errors:

 

 

 

Fedora made a rescue partition when it installed but it's running the 4.5 kernel (the one the installer had was running on) so I'm not sure if I can use that to fix this.

I've learned my lesson with installing the nVidia drivers manually

I dunno about Fedora, but for Ubuntu there is a dedicated ppa with pre-compiled packages

Boot in to recovery and then reset grub.

 

 

Then add the rpmfusion repo and install it from there.

is that something I do from inside a live cd/recovery partition or from Grub's command line?

live cd or recover option in grub will work fine.

I reset grub with the help of this thread and I still get a kernel panic when trying to boot using the 4.6 kernel.  I think it's a problem with the installation/kernel more than a grub problem

change root and compile a new kernel

 

 

Or reinstall.
