What harm, exactly, has the UN been doing?

I think the UN does more harm than good, full stop.

I know the EU does more harm than good, full stop.

I think Obama and Clinton(s) do more harm than good, full stop.

What is the purpose of the UN? What is the purpose of the EU? Now, since they have formed, would you argue they are holistically and historically a success or a failure?

God dammit why do so many people in this thread talk about things they clearly do not understand?

I hope you realize that the US is currently classified as one of the enemies of the Internet (as defined by Reporters without borders).

The US is literally on the same list as Syria, Russia, North Korea, China, Iran, Cuba and other countries.

If you think the US is not to be feared then you are naive and ignorant about how horrible the US actually is.

You don't understand the comparison with the EU and UN.

The point is exactly how it sounds, which is not working in the best interests of all nations.

You, also, need to read back to where i said that the U.S. is not the "good" option and that any fear of the U.S. is legitimate.

Don't talk out of your ass. (or more kindly, please take into consideration what i actually said. I would appreciate it.)

So you're just gonna answer my question with another question?

Can 2 people play the same game?

Is a person capable of answering a question an simple as "what has the UN done that's harmful and to who?"?

I wouldn't really call Denmark a socialist country, really.

Many Scandanavian countries touted as socialist paradises hold very capitalistic principles.

Considering Russia's one of the least peaceful nations in the world (i think ranks 16th out of 162) and what's been going on militarily/politically the past few years, i have little confidence in Russia.

I understand the Global Peace Index takes into account a combination of country militarization, internal security and international conflict. I'm not sure how much of that translates to foreign conflict, and how much is the rest.

I'm also not sure whether Russia has power over the organism that will now regulate internet names.

Nothing is free. That’s my point.

Basing decisions purely off statistics is what liberal progressives do. It sounds great on paper, it may make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but without a realistic, real world, life experience-based approach these statistic-based decisions often end as ineffective or unsuccessful.

For example: It is considered totally racist to say a black man does not need any help to find employment or get an education. Then, if I said the black man in America needs help getting an education and finding a job, then it is not racist. That is what statically speaking produces.

You don't think that DNS administration can have a big impact in the way of abuse or censorship? And i get it, it's not as if there's not always that possibility regardless.

It'd be one thing if it were placed with oversight to a third-party i actually trusted, but the U.N. is not trusted by me.

When you purchase a domain through a registrar, they update their own DNS servers which then send an registry request to IANA/ICANN to update their own official registry. It may sound centrally controlled but in reality it's not. Most DNS servers just sync directly from one another and IANA/ICANN just keep a log of which IP/domain is assigned to who. OG DNS lists were manually updated on each server. This became a task to large for humans to complete eventually though due to how fast the internet was growing. Hence an automated system was created so that servers could synchronize with one another. IANA/ICANN were formed to keep track of these ever changing lists. IANA was formed also to give a structure to IPv4 addresses so that certain IP addresses had specific purposes such as private IP ranges as well as unique IPs such as 127.0.0.1.. All IPs not in use in the US are maintained by ICANN currently. I may not be completely accurate with some points but the general idea is accurate.

It's kind of hard to understand a comparison when there is no comparison being made. It's like saying "Banana is not a good fruit. Let's ask people who like the color orange."

It makes no sense.

No, i had thought there was some context already setup, my mistake.

See it's not control, that's not what this is about. Again, The internet's not a magic cable box gifted by the Gods that we're about to hand-off via some kind of trade. We're really just talking about oversight (which still isn't small, i get that) you have a very naive view of the U.N. friend. It would behoove you to look more into how the U.N. has actually operated since over a couple of decades ago and the controversies surrounding it.

You'll take back those words once our God-emperor, Trump, gets elected and he builds and beautiful wall surrounding your small cumz Swedish adult day-care of a nation.

All facetiousness aside, yeah, no, our country really falls short of a lot lawl i wish we did do some things better.

What's garbage about our food standards?

I need to know what you mean exactly, because we're pretty damn good in my line of work.

The US is very chemical happy when it comes to handling, cleaning, transportation, or storage of food. I shouldn't need a couple different stabilizers to make soup not spoil in a can.

Not to mention everything has so much freaking sugar. Good god it's disgusting.

Yes, that's exactly why we have garbage food standards, terrible education, terrible health care, an infrastructure that's becoming non-existent, monopolies in high-tech industries, and one of the worst economies in the world.

Because we're so great.

Yup.

The political system may not be the best. Not putting any blame on anything, but you’re right. The economy is the worst in the world? Um, I don’t follow or know how to interpret that to be true. Relative to ourselves, haha you are right, we have the worst economic growth! Where I live there is no issues with our infrastructure. You’re going to say we are a monopolized nation? Really? That would be Brazil, to name one example, who’s whole government is basically a singular oil company.

I am going to go ahead and take a guess that you have not finished or have finished high school in the past 3 years. Federal education, aka social conditioning, has taken a very bad turn recently. The recent education standards have conditioned individuals to see every negative about this nation whilst just skimming over the positives.

Let me ask you, where are the highest quality institutes of higher education in the world? How many of them are on US soil?

Let me ask you, where are the highest quality institutes of medical treatment in the world? How many of them are on US soil?

Now pricing may not be remotely good, but you can thank the last 10 years of government for failing us in that respect.

Food standards!! Almost missed that one! Actually, I can’t really comment on that, to be honest. I get a lot of food tax free from my backyard. When I do buy food, it is from HED or Kroger, they sell very high quality stuff, no complaints.

Your reality may be different. But I love this country and I will defend it until I die. I love this country. Even though Obama and liberals want to kill everything good we have going, I still love this country. And they too are Americans.

Honestly, I don’t like Trump

"Chemical happy"

You're not one of those anti-GMO activists who think GMOs cause cancer or some shit right?

Let me put your fears to rest right now and tell you that the science behind the food is sound.

I think you're confusing "chemicals" with just a regular ingredient list.

Also, there's nothing wrong with sugar.

The U.S. biggest problem regarding food is education, not the food.

Amerifats and Lardy McFatAss' biggest problem is an over-consumption of calories, a nutritionally-deficient diet, and a completely distorted view of what it means to have a healthy diet (Such as believing only organic, gluten-free, grass-fed almonds to make almond milk is the only way to eat healthy but is also more expensive, thereby justifying their poor eating habits on cost)

Doesn't surprise me. He's not conservative and he's managed to turn the Republican party on it's head despite being constantly portrayed as "one of those evil Republicans that hates anything not Jesus or white".

Yeah this is a bunch of crap. If you go to Walmart and buy the absolute cheapest ‘edible’ products then you’re probably going to be eating some less than quality products.

I would and will very easily argue that we have the highest quality food available to a larger base of consumers than any other nation. You just have to pay for it, shocker!?

The only fear anyone has is fear itself. You choose to be afraid, or to not be. It’s up to you.

Besides, shared global authority is a good thing as it splits the decision-making power across countries. Sorry if you’re afraid of losing totalitarian control… it’s probably not good for you anyway.

I think you misunderstood what i commented.

UN is a Useless organization sticking their hands up everyone else's asses!

Where were they when my country was invaded by the soviets? All they did was draft a resolution condemning the 'heavy handedness.' How about when those two feminazi's testified against free speech? Why are the lies of two women worth more than the freedom of billions of individuals? And when they do, do something they rape, pillage and murder no better than the people they claim to fight against!

I work two blocks from the UN, I've seen their corruption firsthand. It's not fair that they can shut down streets, search people in their own homes and businesses, and have guards who carry full auto rifles, while I cant even open a window otherwise they'ed shoot me and/or lock me up for 24 hours as a security threat.

Fuck the UN

I don’t agree with everything he says. Neither the republican party nor any other form of establishment appreciate his presence.

In the same breath, you can still bet I will be voting for him. Supreme Court. Wall. 2nd Amendment stays unmolested. Less Taxes.

Cheaper, more easily produced, tastier, and higher-quality genetically modified blueberries over the more expensive organic meme blueberries? Yeah, i would buy the cheaper option because it's actually better, don't meme yourself friend.

I'm not saying go that one shady grocery store and look for cans of somehow expired SPAM. I'm saying be smart and don't be afraid of "chemicals".
