Posted August 26, 2016 Iv'e always wanted to do an X99 build since the chip set originally came out, I had been saving money for a little over three years to make this build. I didn't need it right away since I had a good Dell XPS tower with a decent i7 in it to last me till I was able to build my custom one. I had originally started with: -Core i7-4930K -Asus X99-A/USB 3.1 -Corsair Vengeance 16 GB DDR4 -Cooler Master V1200 FM -Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB -WD Blue 2TB -Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid Tower -Asus Strix GTX 980 Ti -Neptwin CPU Cooler As everyone knows, new things come out over time so I had to change the plan up a bit. I built my system in June of 2016 and have been running great with: -Core i7-6800K -Asus X99 ROG Strix -Crucial Ballistix 32 GB 2666Mhz DDR4 -EVGA 1000 P2 -Intel 540 Series 2.5" 1 TB -WD Black 2TB -Cooler Master Master Case 5 Mid Tower -Asus Strix GTX 1080 -Corsair H100i CPU Cooler -Atlas GPU Bracket I also picked up a new desk and monitor, the Acer XG270HU 27" 1440p 144Hz Monitor, so everything is new and refreshed.
