(Updated) Just Finished off first watercooled Rig

V1RK

Updates (23/05/2014)

Made a few changes to the build

  • Case colour is white used spray paint, I have another 750d which will be air brushed so did temporary spray paint to see what it looked like on main case
  • Changed motherboard to MSI Z77 Big Bang M Power OC board
  • Used slighlty thinner tubing
  • Using XSPC 360 Crossflow Rad with two fans only, third will be added but due to dual resbay up top still need to change
  • Using XSPC EC6 UV Blue
  • Sharkoon UV lights
  • XSPC LCD watercooling montior
  • Additional SSD added which is Crucial M500 240GB
  • NZXT Sentry LXE fan controller
  • Dual monitors- First is LG27EA63 and second is Asus VE278H

Update (24/10/2013)

Will be installing another ssd OCZ Solid 3 120 which I already have and 2 additional drives for storage 2TB Seagate & 3TB Toshiba drive.

Changed the case over to the Corsair 750d, still making changes atm due to leak but will have it fixed by the weekend.

I've attached the latest picture of what the case currently looks like with everything in

@V1RK

Had you difficulty mounting the rad in the top, what size is it? what size of fans are on it? would bigger ones fit too? Like wide 120mm fans for example. This build gives me hope that i might do another build in the future with my R4 and custom loop it. :D

who cares...

240 rad in push and pull, issue was the cpu the plug so had to move to one side and the fan size is 120mm, it was a pain to install but managed it in the end because mounting need to be offset. Had no mounting issues in my nzxt phantom 410 case but that had clearance

That looks great, but i do not like these fans outside of case.

Also your SSD looks is really well mounted... :)

Had to try something different because was unable to mount push/pull on the side rad due to spacing and push/pull wouldn't have worked inside either, with the ssd just had to move far enough for it to sit on the plate

Looks good but I dislike the pink in the reservoir. The build would look much better if it was red but that's just my opinion.

Okay i have seen some R4 liquid builds where people said they had to mount it slightly offset. How thick is the rad? Could you possibly mount a thicker one or would this interfere with e.g. you RAM

who cares...

Yeah you have to mount offset, the rad thickness is 35.5mm, erm looking at doubt you would be able to get a thicker rad upto because the you wont be able to mount fans

great build.  The one thing that concerns me is why didn't you take a more direct approach for the section of the loop going from the cpu block to the gpu block?  That seems really unneccessary as you could have simply gone in from the top port of the GPU block.  Other than that, I like it.  I especially like the placement and mounting of your res/pump combo on the inside of the case.

My build:  Leviathan  Case: 900D  CPU: i7 3770K (watercooled)  Mobo: Z77X-UD5H GPU: EVGA GTX 780 Hydro Copper GPU: MSI GTX 780 watercooled PSU: EVGA 1300W G2  RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengance  HDDs: 1 x 120 GB Intel 330 SSD (OS X); 1 x 256 GB Samsung 840 pro (Windows 8); 2 x 2TB Seagate Barracuda (RAID 0 Data OS X); 1 x 3TB Seagate Barracuda (OS X backups)  Monitors: 1 x 24" Apple LED Cinema (center); 2 x 23" Apple LED Cinema (surround)  Watercooling: 3 rads, CPU, GPU, GPU, MCP655 pump, Lots of fittings, EK reservoir, EK UV Blue coolant.  Updated build: Leviathan 2.0

Thanks, problem was that when trying to screw the compression, the threads was uneven on both top ports (had same problem with barbs) which is why i used the bottom ports. I would have preferred to mount at the top would looked better

Given that this is a Define R4. I expected better cable and tubing runs. No reason to look like such a mess in there
