Graphics Card Pricing: Market Vs MSRP

OK. So Nvidia and AMD have just released their new lines of Graphics cards, Pascal and Polaris.  Both of which provide huge leaps in performance and efficiency.

BUT: The MSRP for these cards is 50 to 100 $ lower than the prices they are actually being sold at. 

 

QNS; 

 

1. Why are these cards so expensive right now?

 

2. How long before the prices normalise? (A.K.A When will an RX480 actually be 200$) 

 

3. Have you bought a Polaris or Pascal card for Desktop / Laptop?

1: Because they're new and everyone wants them, they're in high demand.

2: It'll be another few weeks, possibly a month or two till the market settles down.

3: Yeah, the Sapphire RX 480 NITRO+ with the aftermarket cooler. Excellent card.

1. because everyone wants to get profit, so every step between the manufacturer and the customer is another bump in the price. This time it just seems to be more than in the past.
