1080p Ultrawide or 1440p?

If you have the graphics card that can handle it 1440p.  My problem with ultrawide monitors is that not all games support the aspect ratio so you get black bars on each side.

I don't know for sure but I would assume so.  Don't know how reliable this website is but they say Q4 2016 release date so that is in the next few months: http://videocardz.com/nvidia/geforce-1000/geforce-gtx-1080-ti

im thinking if im going to get a $1000 gaming monitor + 1070, or a 1080+ budget 1440p 144hz
