Good Day/Evening

I have a AMD A10-7860k but i have only x1-4gb 1866 ddr3 hyper X ram.. the thing is the amount of ram shared to the gpu is only 512mb and because of that i got a low fps for some games.. the thing is i have a extra 2gb ddr3 ram but its speed is 1333.. my question is these.. 1. can i put this to my rig? because i have only two slots.. 2. and if so, can i set this specifically/manually dedicated to my GPU? 3. HOW?

hoping for your response guys.. thanks

The speed of the 1866 will down clock to 1333 to match the speed, make sure they are the same voltage as well

how can i determine that they are in the same voltage? and if my 1866 down clock.. what would be the effect to my rig?

And the OP should be able to allocate some RAM to the iGPU in the BIOS.

Ram is not shared with the GPU,Ram is for the CPU,Ram for the GPU is called VRAM,and in the modern world you cant add more ram to your GPU or make it share ram with the GPU

Try and look at the model number/name and do some research on the...

The effect would be you not being able to use the ram

OP is using an APU, so in this case the is shared with the GPU.

Just put it:

1) The 1866MHz stick will underclock to match the other's speed, but that's not really an issue

2) AMD APUs prefer dual channel over single channel RAM

Here's my specs guys..

CPU-AMD A10-7860k

Motherboard - ASUS A68HMK

RAM-x1 4gb HyperX 1866

PSU - 450 Watt

Storage - 500gb WD

My extra ram that I am planning to put is .. PQI DDR3-1333U 2GB..

First of all APU's need faster ram,so 1866 will do better, they prefer dual channel, lower latency and i read somewhere that they can use 2gb max of memory

Just like what I've above men.. I HAVE ONLY 4GB of ram.. and it only shares 512mb to the GPU..

@arcoreinj If your looking to "transfer" the 2gb stick to the APU,first you need to downclock your main ram to 1333 or OC the APU ram you plan on transfering to the APU to 1866,then in somewhere in the BIOS (look around) there should be a option

With apus the max amount of ram that the gpu will use is half of the ram installed in the system, but it will never use over 1gb or ram because the gpu is too slow to utilize it, and more vram doesn't give more performance in most cases.

Changing how much ram is dedicated to the gpu is not possible on most motherboards, and is pointless since the apu will only take as much ram as it needs, any more and then you are just wasting space in the ram.

With the 1333Hz stick it should work since it is ddr3, and will improve the performance of the igpu even if it downclocks the other stick because in single channel you effectively only get half of the ram's frequency, but dual channel will double it to the stated frequency.
