MX Master or Performance MX or something else?

Go to solution Solved by ShaithEatery,

I have an MX Master for my work mouse too and I don't regret it at all.  The battery lasts a very long time and I can't tell of any inherent delay or acceleration (though I guess it would depend on your work/use case if you would notice something like that more or less, I work in I.T. and move between remote sessions often so I am probably used to whatever delay is going on due to the latency between me and what I'm working on).  One of my favorite things about it is the advancement they made with the fast-scroll wheel where it intelligently enables the fast scrolling mode when you scroll very fast, then disables it after it slows back down and you are back to the regular notched scrolling action.  No more buttons required to press to enable/disable it.

I will say that if you are used to using the thumb buttons to go forwards and backwards between web pages and such, I am not much of a fan of the forward/backward button placement and don't find myself using them really at all.  Other than that it's comfortable, feels like good quality, and worth the price IMO.

I want to replace the cheap Dell mouse that I was given at work because it's tiny for my hands and has no forward/back buttons.

I'm considering the Logitech MX Master (95 CAD) and the Performance MX (75 CAD). I'm accustomed to using a wired mouse with a great sensor (G502) so I'm worried about wireless issues and a laser sensor (inherent acceleration?).

Are these fears unfounded? Should I go for something else?

I gave the MX Master a lot of consideration before ending up with my G602. The Master felt really, really nice, but the extra buttons and gaming focus of the G602 pushed me in that direction. After spending a few minutes goofing around with a friend's Master, I think one could game on it if that's your intent.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

It is certainly not my intent to game with the mouse as it will be used at work only. I have a G502 at home.

You will not regret the MX Master, then.

Thanks guys. Decided to order an MX Master. Found a slightly better price (90 CAD), too. :D

I was gonna get an MX Master but then I thought that the G700s would be better for gaming.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

How to setup MSI Afterburner OSD | How to make your AMD Radeon GPU more efficient with Radeon Chill | (Probably) Why LMG Merch shipping to the EU is expensive

Oneplus 6 (Early 2023 to present) | HP Envy 15" x360 R7 5700U (Mid 2021 to present) | Steam Deck (Late 2022 to present)

Mid 2023 AlTech Desktop Refresh - AMD R7 5800X (Mid 2023), XFX Radeon RX 6700XT MBA (Mid 2021), MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon (Early 2018), 32GB DDR4-3200 (16GB x2) (Mid 2022

Noctua NH-D15 (Early 2021), Corsair MP510 1.92TB NVMe SSD (Mid 2020), beQuiet Pure Wings 2 140mm x2 & 120mm x1 (Mid 2023),

It is kinda heavy for gaming, it's more of a productivity mouse, but I got used to it.
