480 or 1060 at same price

Hello LTT Forum,

 

I am planning on upgrading my pc. Currently running on:
Core i5 4590 3.3GHz, 8gb ddr3 ram, 650w psu, 1080p monitor and other stuff but no GPU. Mostly used for gaming.

I will buy either rx 480 or gtx 1060, and another 1080p monitor. There is no possibility of changing the card in the near future.

so for me mainly gaming on 1 1080p monitor suggest a card supposing those 2 are at the same price point(suppose exactly same).

 

No fanboying please, just clear facts and help me choose a card.

 

Again suppose both cards are priced same.

or if you guys have any better suggestion, do suggest but not 1070/1080 or fury (way out of my budget )

GTX 1060 is a bit more powerful so if they're the same price then get the 1060.

If they cost the same, 1060 will give better performance.

 

But if you want to have the ability upgrade to dual card later, the 480 is the only option
