I7 6800k gtx 1080 bottleneck?

hello,

I have a asus x99-a which supports 28 lane cpus with x16 for the first card and x8 for the second.

my question is will my i7 6800k bottleneck my 2 evgas 1080's with this motherboard ?

I will post a picture from my motherboard so that you can see what it actually supports but I am suspicious that it will cost many Frames for Gaming..

 

hopefully you can help me out

 

and btw please put no effort in it to ask me why I am bought this or that instead of.. Thanks

Looks good though I'd highly recommend getting a higher quality PSU, gold rated or better. Quality and expensive components need quality power. Anything from Corsair Silverstone superflower Evga and be Quite would be a good choice.  Never skimp on the PSU, if it goes everything else may go.

Consider getting faster RAM for such a setup, it'll help in your minimum framerates and possibly average framerates in CPU-intensive scenarios (which is going to be more common that you think with two GTX 1080s). Perhaps a better power supply as well such as the EVGA SuperNOVA 650/750 G2.

So what do you guys think ? Which psu should I order? Is 850w to much ? Because you booth talked about 650/750?

I haven't seen any evidence of this. Everywhere ive seen ram makes almost 0 difference in fps. Could you provide some proof please?

So I read now 2 reviews (full review with test bench etc) 

 

First review:

Then I read some user reviews and the conclusion is that the psu is very very good even if it's only bronce. In many scenarios the psu come very close to gold ones and I will definitly have no problems with this psu in sli.

Well it highly depends on the resolution you are aiming to game at realy, and what your definition of "bottlenecking" is.

if you game at anything lower then 4K the cpu will certainly be a limmitation at some point in certain games and gaming scenario´s with a GTX1080 Sli.

But it depends from game to game aswell and how well they work with sli etc.

You cannot just say that there wont be a bottleneck at all.

Because there are scenario´s in which there definitely will be.

At 1080p but also at 1440p you will definitely getting cpu limmited in certain games.

Even if you trow a overclocked 5960X or 6900K or whatever at it.
