Mineral Oil PC Disaster

I was trying to hook up new power supply to a mineral oil PC that I received. The motherboard had a loose capacitor that fell off. I was an idiot that tried to turn on the computer even though it was toast. the sata power connector to the SSD started smoking and fusing to my SSD. I am wondering if the PSU is dead or not. The Gold on the contacts is gone on the SSD, I am also wondering if that is toast. if anybody has any idea about anything on the PC that would help.

Only way is to test it by bridging the power on wire for the PSU, but you will want to disconnect and take everything out before doing that.

Yikes. If any liquids got into the PSU it I would suggest to not use it.

yeah I figured the SSD is toast. there goes a unused 250 gig Samsung evo

Take it out side and hook it up to a computer with a mother board that has a fan connected to it.

tbh you might just want to chalk all that up for a loss also I hope you have check the cpu because that might have fried as well

yeah maybe. The only parts I cared about was PSU

it was but if i rebuild the computer I would try to do it really cheap and reuse any parts I can
