The 6700k will be just fine.

6700k has got fewer faster cores, which majority of games like. If you do video editing or 3d modelling, then the 5820k is also a nice option. Bottom line, both will do well, and better than your current cpu.

If it helps, the 6700K will use less power and be more efficient.

I would go for the 6700. It'll give you more cache, HT (used by many games I play) and better framerate
