ALso you aren't using your cpu for encoding, your using nvec on the gpu.

And the extra heat from the GPU? As well as the loud crappy intel stock cooler? Wraith is silent and capable of handling over 125W and this is a 95W APU

Wait but the APU is still a dual core but with 4 thread, which I guess is better for also video editing (video editing is more of a priority for my sister). What it comes down to is to use a good cpu for now and then maybe next year add a good gpu whose cost is not included in this year's budget.

The i3 is faster due to its faster cores. Look here for the encoding benchmarks.http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1645?vs=1497

The i3 wins by about 30%

the APU is a quad-core with 2 FPUs I believe. Editing WILL be smoother on the APU. Though if you want to upgrade to a GPU, you'd best give us an idea what you want from that GPU

Have used them as well - loud as fuck

Yet actual editing is a slideshow

Then why does the i3 win in basically every cpu benchmark?

Do those feature live footage on how smooth actual editing is? No? I thought so

It will be fine editing, I have use slower cpus that are smooth when editing(u series laptop chips, amd tri core). You don't need a beast cpu for ediitng. A i3 would be faster. Show how it would be slower.

ULV CPUs? Really? You are saying editing is fine on what is basically a tablet CPU?

Also, let's assume he goes for the i3 - where do you see an 80$ GPU fitting?

Nono, there will be some spare money + wages etc, the budget for the GPU will be around 250$

Hmmm, then consider saving up for the i5 6500

Yep you don't neet that much computer power to edit these days. Esp if you willing to lower playback res to 1/2.

I made a build with the i3, 750, 16gb, ssd for 430. Get a hdd and 8gb of ram at your at 400

Cool Cool, I think I will buy an i5 then, just to be sure and then wait until I have the budget for a r9 380

Go for the RX 480 man - it's cheap and much more powerful
