Used to play insane amounts of Anno 1503, but that 3-time activation limit sucks dogballs. Stay away from it or, y'kno... yarr.

The DRM is a shame, but unless you're against it on principle (and I can't blame you if you are) it won't likely be an issue. It's not that you only get three lifetime activations per purchase, you gain back one activation every 30 days. So the only way to be prevented from activating the game is to try to install it a fourth time within a three month period, which most users will never do.

 

It's my personal favorite of the Anno series, just beware that it has a lot of pointless DLC. The good one is Deep Ocean, and the rest is probably worth skipping.

What about it? That just means it's going to be cheap, and with all of its updates and post-release polish and bug fixes.

 

Anno 2205 came out just last year, but they removed so much depth and so many features that it's pretty hard to recommend to anyone.

The 3 machine activation limit sucks but it's a great game.

 

If you don't like it you can always refund it.
