Not necessarily the cheapest if you  can get one that is so much better for not a lot more,  I'm hoping to stay around the $400 mark (+$15 maximum) I'm currently looking at this: http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16814127948

Wait for this to be back in stock, using the maximum $30 off for triple15 promo code, knock the price to $406.64, waive the free returns to get down to 396.64, and then pay with a debit card to knock another $6 off.  Viola, 1070, $390, much better cooler than the one you're looking at. Source: got mine today.

Should I really waive the free returns? What if it's broken?

That policy is only if you change your mind, you have to pay return shipping.  If it is broken, they take it back and pay for shipping.

You'll want to see if the Strix card fits in your case though, as the thing's a freakin monster.

Alternatively, you could measure it. The card is 11 3/4" long, so if you measure it and have enough space, you're good.

This one fits for sure http://pcpartpicker.com/list/  They're all gonna perform about the same, as pascal 1070's and 1080's all seem to have a 2100mhz limit.  That's exactly where my strix goes to as well.  Just get the cheapest one with the best cooler that works.  Looks like that's the G1 for you, unless you want to mod your case.

I'll probably get the MSI Armour would I be able to apply all of those steps to that one?

Yeah, that's a good card too. They'll all overclock relatively similarly, so if you like the armor than go for it!  Any 2 fan card will fit in your case, no doubt.  It'll take up to an ~11.5" card.

I've heard complaints about strix cards, have you encountered any problems?

None at all.  Overclocks like a champ, quite as a mouse, cool as a cucumber and lots of other good idioms too. But I've only had it since yesterday, so I guess time will tell.  My asus dcuii 7870 was a beast too

Probably not but it is the first 1070 to go under 400. It has 2 fans but it will probably be a little weaker than the armor.

Not sure about US prices but in the UK triple fan OCed and built like tanks 980 Tis are cheaper than the cheapest blower fan crap 1070. They are much more appealing at £80 less than a decent cooled 1070.

Linus is my fetish.

That's why I'm buying from the states,  it's so much cheaper over there
