Clicking "go to latest page" on hovering notifcation takes me to first page of thread?

so i noticed this on the car thread, because so many posts are being made there, but it could happen on any thread i believe. i needed to go to the latest page, and then a little box shows up at the bottom left of my window saying "show xx+ new replies or go to latest page" and i click the go to latest page link, but instead of taking me to the latest page of the thread, it takes me to the first post of the thread. i'm confused, it never did this before. maybe something got messed up during last maintenance or something?

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

What's the URL of the link for "go to latest page"? It's possible that it will be fixed in the maintenance that is coming up in about half an hour.

usually, it's just the name of the thread with no page or comment indications. like https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/625263-clicking-go-to-latest-page-on-hovering-notifcation-takes-me-to-first-page-of-thread but instead of the title of this thread, just replace it with any thread name.

No, it looks like it's actually ?do=getNewComment. I think it should be fixed now. Please could you test it, then let me know either way.

Actually, it's not properly fixed, but it won't take you to the first page any more, so it is an improvement. I've reported the bug that causes it to just refreshing the page rather than taking you to the last page to the devs.
