Just out of curiosity, when I receive my 1GHz Pentium 3, 1.5GB of RAM and my FX5500, will I be able to post my scores here? Because I don't know if anyone has used cinebench on a P3 before, or if they will be classed as valid.

if it will cinebench

make sure to submit valid screenshots. read op in its entirety

it will depend on the os as to whether you can run them. i think you will only be able to run 2003, because it probably wont have the instructions to run 11.5.

I'm making a cut down version of XP at the moment so the OS will be no problem (it needs to fit on a 420MB HDD), and according to the website any 1GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM will do, I was just concerned as to whether the results would be valid or not as they will be on a severely outdated machine.

Edit: the RAM speed is 133MHz BTW as I was unable to find any 140MHz or 150MHz kits at all, which will really through the system to the bottom of the list.

I may have degraded my intel quad cores. She was malnourished, cold, abused, left out in a junk pile to wither away. She was extra hungry for some voltage at first...but then I think she overate and became bloated. can no longer boot into windows past 1.7V :) I guess I need more practice's rehabilitating central processing units.

i think these scores not entered in the doc (11.5 and r15) or you got little confused when entering them. #harry'sbacklog

I think 11.5/R15 require some newer version the SSE, probably SSE2. I believe P3 has the standard SSE instruction set. @.

Thanks, either way I will install both versions just to be sure. It will be fun to see just what this old rig can do.

Edit: dug out the compatibility list, and the P3 is listed as not supported, seems like the old version is the way to go.

I'm expecting a score of about 0.15-0.2

It depends on the CPU, I've got 2x slot 1 celerons, 1 at 300MHz with aftermarket cooler, 1 at 333MHz with stock cooling, a s370 Celeron 500MHz, P3 667MHz and a P3 1GHz on the way, I think I will see a variety of results, especially if I find some 150MHz 168pin SDRAM sticks (it will mean I can set the CPUB speed above 133MHz).

i know for a fact that super pi will work on a P3 :) i dont think i could get 2003 to work because the os i was using was windows 95.

i'm a bit confused. why does the 981cb say its at 4.4ghz. even with 3000mhz ram and a extremely efficient os and motherboard, you couldn't get that score with that clock? it must have been at least 4.8/4.9ghz. also can you please use cpuz and not crop the screenshots. i have a 4k monitor so i can see any size screenshot and you can always put them in a spoiler if you think they are too big.?

i don't understand your question ...3000mhz ram ? where ? and why it has to be on 4.8 or 4.9? its on 4.4 how benchmark show it on 4.8 ? are you saying this chip is giving me false readings ?

if he did then i can't see the clock speed without cpuz because at least cpuz shows the range of multipliers used :P . anyway hes got another 4 hours to sort it out cos my lunch break is over :(

yes. either its reading the clock speed wrong or it was a glitch. if you look at the spreadsheet then you will see that a haswell or dc i7 will get high 800's low 900's at 4.4ghz

do i need to disable speed step ? isn't it helping thing in saving power if i disable it my CPU remains on 4.0ghz but when its on after bit of idle time it comes down to 770mhz and the lowest temps and power consumption

He's saying the score you got on the test doesn't match other stock 4790K results, it's closer to a 4.8/4.9GHz 4790K

And he's saying to reach that score at 4.4GHz you'd need 3000MHz+ RAM speeds and a really clean OS

well you're @1333mhz atm,

get your 5.1ghz clock going again and download cpu-z from cpuid.com :)

then stress test, validate and screenshot :)

then if you'd like to benchmark it, a 5.1ghz score will put you very high up the leaderboards here :)
