download geforce experience and it tells you which driver is the latest.

The GFE is garbage...

OP, do a manual install off of Nvidia's site and do a custom install so that you don't install GFE or the 3d garbage.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

It's not though.

It works great, and make sit only take 2 minutes and 1 click to update your drivers to the newest version.

Also has shadowplay which is awesome.

All my stability problems went away after removing GFE, all of them. Install GFE and none of my older games run, they all crash.

I've never had any issues with GFE and running older games, so idk what you're doing wrong.

Unless you use it to optimize games, it literally does nothing other than check for new drivers.

There should be no reason for it to cause any instability unless you screwed something up.

I never used the optimization feature. And nothing is changed other than the installation of GFE but with it installed old games won't run and I lose 50mhz on my overclock. Wasn't a problem before the latest update but I'm not going to mess with running an older version of GFE with the latest drivers. Easier just to uninstall GFE.

Maybe you cloned windows or upgraded to windows 10 or something bad like that.

I've played games from 1997 with no problems.

I mean upgrading to windows 10.

Like doing the upgrade process that Microsoft gives you instead of properly clean installing.

Not aware of any way to do a clean install other than owning a Windows 10 key. All my past OP data is long gone.

You don't need a key to clean install though.....

If you didn't bother to clean install windows then you have no right to complain about software not working properly, because you did that to yourself.

That wasn't a problem with GFE. That was a problem with you not bothering to do things properly.

What? Why would I replace my full version of Windows 10, with a trial version of Windows 10, just to use GFE. I have zero issues when GFE isn't installed on my PC and miss nothing by not having it. Your argument makes no sense man.

When you clean install it installs the full version of windows.....not a trial

And the windows update process screws up a lot of software, which is why upgrading is a bad idea.

If you clean install, you won't have those issues, but clearly you don't really know how a clean install works.

So maybe next time try doing things the proper way instead of blaming software like GFE which you screwed up by doing the upgrade.

By the way, you will probably have more issues from upgrading windows instead of doing a clean install.

I would suggest you go look at event viewer and go to custom view> administrative events.

That will show you everything that's going wrong in your system right now.

If you have upgraded to Windows 10 you can safely do a clean install. You will get the full version because Microsoft registers your motherboard on their validation servers after upgrading.

I reinstalled multiple laptops and PC's after upgrading to Windows. I never needed a key you can skip that part and windows will activate itself after installation.

CPU: i7-12700KF Grill Plate Edition // MOBO: Asus Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 // RAM: 16GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200MHz CL14

I have a windows 8 key, my upgrade to windows 10 happened at the time of install. If I re install windows it will install the version I have a key for, looked into doing so when I installed my new motherboard. You're arguing that following Microsofts instructions on how to install their software is incorrect...

Not your usual behavior.

1) no, you clean install windows 10, you get the full windows 10 version with no need to activate anything

2) the microsoft upgrade process is broken, and any problems you have with software are caused by it

1) Not only is that a lot of work, when I attempted to do it at the time of switching motherboards it tried to install 7.

2) I keep telling you I'm not having any. I run more software than I can keep track of and nothing has an issue.

you download this tool

https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

run it

select a 4GB+ USB drive

and you're done

all you have to do then in boot into the USB drive and install windows

since you currently have windows 10 it will automatically activate itself so you don't need to deal with any keys or stuff

it just works
