Is the Intel Core i5 4460 still good today?

Is it good for video editing, rendering, and of course, 1080p gaming today? My brother is thinking of getting this pc: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/801410061-USE/asus_m32ad_us021s_desktop_computer.html

It has an Intel Core i5 4460 and a GTX 760 but he plans to upgrade the GPU eventually. In the meanwhile, how well will this pc hold up? Can it run 2016 games at 60fps at 1080p?

Custom building with an e3-1231 and custom 480 is way better for what he wants to do

Yeah it should definitely be fine for a while yet. CPU's don't generally fall behind for 3 or 4 years.

And yet, considerably more expensive. Plus I highly doubt he's doing enough video editing that he really needs a Xeon.

If you're only choice is a prebuilt then that will perform decently. The I5 may struggle with rendering compared to the 1230 V3 but for that price considering it's a prebuilt pretty good though I would swap out the power supply as I dread to think what Asus threw in there.

depending on how much video editing and rendering he's doing, since those tasks will typically use up to 8 cores, but since intels generational improvements are small it should be fine for a while, won't be hitting max settings on games with that graphics card, but should handle 1080 just fine at low to moderate settings

For video editing, rendering etc it will be okay however not as good as an i7, but for gaming it's enough. It will surely run 1080p 60 fps if you pair it up with a decent GPU.

pretty good deal imo.

the 4460 isn't bad at all, but lacks the hyperthreading but that would add much cost and you will only notice it when doing regularly large projects

Just set the item you want and set the price limiter to 1 and the lowest number you think it might be. Then, if nothing shows up, raise the highest price by 10 c:

Ok what do you guys think of this build:

i7 3770K @ 4.4GHz
Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard
16GB Patriot Viper 2133MHZ CL11 DDR3 memory
480GB Micron M500 SSD
750W EVGA Supernova G2 80-Plus Gold power supply
Fractal Design XL R2 full tower case with upgraded Noctua fans
Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler
Legit, activated Windows 10 Professional

A guy is selling it for $750 in my city. IK that it has no GPU but my brother has a 270x he can put in there while he waits for a GPU deal. Is $750 a fair price?

He said that he could include a 780ti for $900. Is that a good deal?

There's another advertisement with an overclocked i5 3570k, 16 GB ram, 120gb ssd, and a 7950 for $650. I want to stream the latest games in at least 720p with no frame drops and record the latest games at 1080p with no frame drops. I'll also be editing videos. Is the extra $250 worth it for the i7 system?
