well not referring to the 900D specifically, but large cases in general: http://www.digitalstorm.com/aventum-3.asp

Where on there do they show using this small 1070?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put 6 mini DP ports on it and include adapters to HDMI, DVI, etc, rather than two huge honking DVI ports and then convert to something better?

That's what EVGA did with at the very least their Geforce 6200. It had a DVI to VGA adapter for those still using analogue displays (although I wish that the S-Video connector hadn't left the 90's-its a waste of space and the image quality is terrible).

Another interesting thought though: with this smaller PCB design they could potentially do what Asus did with the 960 and ship a dual 1070 card.

It's "only" 300 watts TDP (well within what their windforce cooler supposedly can handle) which is what the 290x had so it should be fairly plausible.

idk why everything isn't just 4x DP and included adapters

Well because sometimes adapters dont provide the same results. Had this issue recently where I had to hook up two 2560 x 1080 ultrawide monitors that only have HDMI in, to my laptop with only 1 HDMI out and 2 Mini-DP out. HDMI to HDMI ran without a hitch, but HDMI to Mini-DP with any resolution above 1080p and 60fps wouldn't work. Eventually I was able to run the monitor at 2560 x 1080 by running it at 52Hz which is good enough for office work, but it still proves my point. Adapters don't always allow you to use the capabilities of your hardware as intended.

Desktop:     Core i7-9700K @ 5.1GHz all-core = ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate = 16GB HyperX Predator DDR4 @ 3600MHz = Asus ROG Strix 3060ti (non LHR) = Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD = ASUS PG279Q

Notebook:  Clevo P651RG-G = Core i7 6820HK = 16GB HyperX Impact DDR4 2133MHz = GTX 980M = 1080p IPS G-Sync = Samsung SM951 256GB M.2 SSD + Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD

thats an issue with the adapters hence a correct one should be provided with the GPU.

OMG, why didn't I think of that!

Unfortunately it's rarely that easy. :D

So as you might know, video card manufacturers sometimes come up with an idea of a small form factor beast of a graphics card. Well, it's no exception now, with Gigabyte's GTX 1070 Mini.

Here are some photos of it:

It features a single 90mm intake fan and it's powered by a single 8-pin connector.

If you plan on building an awesome gaming HTPC, this is definitely the way to go!

Is it me, or does it look like the PCB is under quite some stress on that second picture, or is the board just bent? xD

DP adapters need to be powered

also, these cards are meant to be put in HTPCs under a TV - TVs don't use DP, they used HDMI

While short is good for super SFF builds, it's taller than than the PCI slots which won't play well all compact cases. A bit longer length ways and a shorter height wise would be better for compatibility IMO. Not keen on the 2 DVI connectors either, I'd question the need for 1, but 2 WTF were they thinking?

im interested what temps that thing will have

If it's anything like my G1 1070 is assume pretty good for the style of card.  I plan to keep an eye on it but so far my 1070 hasn't gotten above like 63C so far as I've noticed.  And that's with the fans running no higher than 45% I'm fairly certain.  That's at somewhere in the high 90's for load too if I remember right.
