MSRP is a price recommendation. As long as people buy it for more it will stay at that price becasue that is what it seems to be worth to the market.
It could just as well have been sold at a lower price if I am not mistaking if the manufacturers just cut enough corners. They are just byuing the boards/ even just the GPUs from Nvidia and putting coolers on it ... and they are sure as hell not paying anywhere close to 379. more like 250 or something.

Exactly ! People need to stop buying them for this much higher price. If the prices are driven down a lot of people would actually get them. Shame people will just keep paying WAY more than the originally stated price :(

There are some out there but majority of the 1070's are pricey !

Exactly!

Right now they set price to 440$, and they go out of stock in matter of hours.

So why would they decrease price, if users are still paying more?

But hey! RX 480 is out ... seems better in price/performance ratio vs GTX 1070, so nvidia might start decreasing price.

Or they will just send out another stock of them and see how fast they will sell those cards xD

I don't think you will see and GTX 1070 for 380$ any time soon.

You are comparing a Titan X to a 970 performance wise. The 1070 is high end and the 480 is a competetively priced mid tier card. Those two are not really competing. That is like comapring a VW golf GTI to a Mercedes E63 but go ahead.

The MSI Aero might hit the MSRP, but with the RX 480 being a disappointment only coming in at 970 performance I wouldn't count on it. But it has the best chance to.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
