is the witcher 3 good?

So I am about to buy Witcher 3 because it's on sale and looks like good fun. But I want to hear what others think about it because steam reviews suck. So If anyone plays the game and have thoughts on it any help would be great. thanks

The best game I have ever played in my life so far. Immense world, great graphics, very interesting storyline, deep characters and amazingly widely-built sidequests make it arguably the best RPG in the world atm.

witcher 3 is nothing but good
if you like witcher 1 and 2 you go for it
if you like RPGs but don't know witcher 1 and 2 you still go for it
if you like videogames you damn sure go for it

to be 100% honest with you , i haven't played the game yet but i will , also i watched my brother playing it and it's awesome

Yeah. And there are two just as great expansions packs that can be bought in addition to the game, which add around 20-30 hours of playtime. Each.

how much playtime would you say the base game is?

70 hours or so if you do a couple of side quests. I've replayed the game twice and finished the first expansion and still have a heap of side quests and story line to complete ~200 hours. 

 

• Combat mechanics are very diverse with a number of ways to play. 
• Make sure you craft the health potion early on - I didn't even know it existed in the first play-through and managed to survive entirely on scavenged food, but it was very, very difficult.

I've beat the game three times already, and finished both expansion packs. And I still consider re-playing it over again. What's funny is that I didn't even play Witchers 1 or 2, but this game is too fucking good.

The best game I have ever played. 

The only game that treat you like an adult. You do what you wanna do, and face the consequences. 

 

You can help the good and poor to take a revenge on the corrupted and powerful, then when you face the latter, he offered you some gold and tell you to walk away. What you gonna do??

 

Also in the game you are gonna find out that in life is not that black and white. There were a lot of times I got scammed or conned in the game. 

Also a lot of time when I helped a stranger , i thought I am helping the right person, then later things turned out the way that I did not expected at all.

I tried to romance with Yen and Triss at the same time during early game, then later they found this out, both of them tied me into the bed and leave me there high and dry, at the end dandelion came in rescued me and laughing his ass off..... Did you encounter this??? Or I am the only greedy one XD.

No, that's a possibility that I never chose, one of the very few ones First time I played the game, I chose Triss, as I like her much more. Especially after they added the DLC with her Alternative look, which looks amazing. But two other times I finished the game I chose Yennefer because there's much more "interaction" with her later in the game and she's a more valuable character to the story ;p

Yennefer is too bitchy and arrogant for my taste, I prefer the more humble Triss Blood & Wine main storyline was amazing for me personally.

I prefer Hearts of stone. I felt that hearts of stone is telling you a story about 2 ppl's marriage. A lot of lessons learnt after playing it.

One of the best Games i´ve ever played. Quality Level and Content is insane. Its almost unbelievable what CDRed created with Witcher3. Make sure to buy both DLC´s. Its worth it.

In my opinion, no. You might be different and this might not apply to you, but gameplay comes before story for me, and Witcher's combat is basic as fuck. It's a press X simulator. And hearing from people who have played the game, leveling up does not change the way the game is played. You just hit harder and enemies have more health.

I've gotten the game and for some reason I find it hard to see, almost like the environment is too bright or something. Like I have to squint at the screen

That's odd. Have you checked your settings in the Options menu to see if the brightness is turned up too much?

Its a very large and deep game, and is not really a "pick up and play" sort of thing

 

also you are coming into the series in the 3rd game so I expect you to feel lost
