Android Users - What version of Android do you use?

I was thinking more along the lines of 4.4/5.0 and up since my target audience (which is to say LTT's target audience) is mostly tech savvy individuals between the age of 13 and 50.

But note that there are still a lot of Jelly Bean phones.

So if you look like this:

1.0-2.1; absolutely not worth it, both hardware and software is outdated.

2.2-3.2; you can but it's kinda not worth it, yes, there is still a small chunk of Froyo and Gingerbread phones, but the hardware is not that good (but not as bad as the last group)

4.0-4.4; This is where I will consider starting. The hardware is not underpowered (there are some exceptions but not many) and there is a lot of phones, so 4.0 and up is the most optimal.

5.0-6.0; you can start from there but it's not reccomended to start from there, because there is a lot of people stuck to Jellybean and KitKat and that's it. Even I have this issue on my tablet, it's still running 4.1.1 even tho it has potential to run at least 4.4, so take that into consideration.

Hi all,

I'm looking for what version of Android people are running. This is so that I can figure out what version I can put as my minimum API level for Linus Forum Tips for Android.

Will you be able to update to a newer version of Android on your current device?

Do you mean upgrade to a minor or major version? Do you mean officially released versions of Android through OEM/carrier, or through other means (custom ROM's/Cyanogenmod)?  How do I know if my phone will get the next version?
