Hi, simple question. How does TESLA  or Xeon Phi works in term of 3D rendering? Does it work like an additional CPU coupled with crazy amount of cores?

I'm using Autodesk Maya (Vray&Arnold for rendering) and Houdini for effects simulation. Does it really worth? My budget is no more than $3500

Not for the programs your using.

-The tesla acts like anouther gpu that a monitor can't be connected to. Its just a cuda device

-A xeon phi is its own system that you can ssh into and runs linux. I can't do everything a normal cpu can do as its missing some extensions.

They are better at things like scientific calculations, not actual rendering.
