I don't consider Premier to be "high end." AE defiantly is though but again.. runs differently than the VFX in videos I do. For your friend though it does sound like the 980ti is a better option. Like I said... not knocking the 980ti, just not better for ALL video editing. I use the 970 and will probably wait on an EVGA Hydro Copper 1080ti * Brushes salt off of shoe * spent those experience points on the Dark Souls dodge and roll I see. On point If I had a loop I'd be doing the same. But I like my AIOs, so I'm watching the SeaHawk and Hybrid. If anyone asks you never saw me. I genuinely don't understand paying an early adopter's fee for the GTX 980's successor. Say what you will, but I bought 2. they're on their way now. Posted June 22, 2016 I would totally buy a Gaming X variant right now seeing as how I have a GTX 480, so for me it would be totally worth the early adopters fee. Posted June 22, 2016 Epeen... so funny! The card that's "worth" the money is only the GTX 1070. Sure the 1080 is great but it's really replacing the 980 Ti and it runs mostly about 10 fps over that. Certainly not worth the extra $200 or more you'd need to spend. Keep the 980 Ti 1 more year and I'd bet something else comes out to beat the 1080's pants off. Then when everyone is selling the 1080, buy it with 1 year on it... not bad... that's how I think at least.
 Now if you got an insane selling price on your 980 Ti like you managed, then it'd also be worthwhile. That's how I feel. If I had a TI's instead of a 980's I'd wait but I plan on it once there's more in stock and the price gouging ceases.
