Of those two: Sublime Text. Atom runs on a web browser engine, basically blowing up its overall size and implying weird security issues.

That said, I switched from Sublime Text to Emacs in 2013 and wouldn't want to go back.

I don't really know. Atom is Open-Source but I feel like Sublime has more features by default. Atom more customizable... I guess I'm going with Atom here. Both have their pros and cons.

As if "open source" would automatically do wonders on the overall quality.

Care to explain?

I'm using Atom, since it's free, has prettier themes and Sublime doesn't have any features I desire.

I'm wondering why people still use Notepad++, I've used it for a bit, but generally it's

a pile of shit.

Visual Studio Code is in my opinion better than both Atom and Sublime. It's similar to Atom but fast and stable.

I am used to Sublime, have used it for a very long time but just recently VS code had become really good. It's already much better than Atom!

I use a mix between atom and visual studio code, I think that for big projects atom and smaller projects VScode.
