nhu12s in air 240?

Prokart2000

Hopefully later this year i will revamp my current pc into a air 240, meanwhile upgrading to skylake.

I was wondering does the nhu12s fit into the air 240. (and do the old intel mounts it came with work with 1151 too?)

Many Thanks

Pro

My Setup :P

the best cooler for that case is probably (ironically) a 240 AIO.

But Top Down coolers may fit, from Noctua and from Be Quiet.

Silverstone FT-05: 8 Broadwell Xeon (6900k soon), Asus X99 A, Asus GTX 1070, 1tb Samsung 850 pro, NH-D15

I don't really want to spend £90 on a h100i as then I would probably have to get a i5-6500 to save costs which defeats the object. Any suggestions on maybe 120mm aio or low profile ones?

What's your budget for an air cooler, assuming you get the K sku

If you want a tower cooler, you're kind of limited to 92mm fan coolers,

only one that low profile I have expereince with is the following 9and within budget)

Noctua NHU9 should be right at the top end of your price range, although IDK what the mark up is in the UK
Coolermaster TX3 is decent and cheap. but kind of loud.

honestly I'd just save money for a bit and get a larger more expensive top down cooler or aio, especially if you want to OC - due to the limitations of that case

As for top down

I presume a 120mm aio won't cut it right? If not saving up for a 240mm is recommended?

yeah, a 120 AIO, even thick ones, perform on par (or sometimes below due to not being able to dissipate heat fast enough from the liquid) as a lower end 120mm fan cpu cooler (think hyper 212)

Which 240mm would you recommend?

I mean they are all basically the same. Same OEM usually except for coolermaster or deep cool... similar performance. just get whatever is cheaper (or is in yoru budget) or looks better down the line.

although Noctuas 92mm cpu coolers are pretty phenomenal for their size
