Whats your budget, this is a 320 dollar build with a budget listed of 1000.

Id go with a althon quad core cpu. The dual core apu's are crap.

Get a bigger hdd/ssd. Those are very slow

Also you can get a 250/360w psu as 500w is overkill.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

CPU: AMD A6-6400K 4.1 Ghz

GPU: EVGA GTX 750ti SC

MOBO: Gigabyte A68H

HDD: Seagate 250 GB

PSU: EVGA 500W

Case: Rosewill FBM-01

Price: $321

Is this a good starter PC or no? I'm thinking of building a new unit for $1000. Thanks!

Are many better options than what you have here, regardless of whether your budget is $1000 or $300 (im a bit confused in that respect).

  • I would replace the CPU with a 860k  or an i3 6100 (the i3 would preform a lot better). I believe that you could use the same mobo although I would reccomend a slightly higher end one (maybe a88x) if you went for the 860k.  If you went with the i3 you would have to switch to a lga1-51 socket board and I would reccomend a ddr4 h170 board.
  • You would be better off with a slightly newer card. The 750ti is still ok but is showing its age. A 950 or 370 would be a good option or maybe wait to see what the lower end of polaris has to offer. If your budget is 1000 then the 480?
  • That Hdd. Um. Is, uh, small. At least get a 1tb and maybe even a drive to go with it like a SanDisk Ultra II 120gb.  Also WD is a better option than seagate
  • Fuck that power supply. Stop it. Get a 500B. Don't EVER look at the Evga W series supplies. They are as bad as those crap Chinese ones.
  • Case is good. Very basic but good. If you are on a really tight budget get the model with the bundled PSU as it will be as good as a W series supply.

Hope I helped :)

Okay I need to be more specific next time.

What I meant was I already had this shit computer that I wasted $320 on a while back. I'm thinking of selling this one to start saving up for a $1000 rig.

Ohhh ok. Gotcha. Well you have a useless post from me up there :D

Anyway. Here is what I reccomend you build. It has a nice all black theme so maybe you could grab some LEDs and sleeved cables to add some pop to it. It comes just under $900 so it should be a good option if you want a bit of room for some more asthetic stems or maybe a few new peripherals :)
