Something with a desktop i7 6700K and a desktop 980. But, these things are pricey as it gets and won't do you any good if you are looking for something to carry around for long periods and expect to last. You can try something with a 970m and a i7 4700hq if you don't want to haul a big laptop around.

for music production?

I would personally recommend software with an auto save and back up function when you are planning to stick with windows.

Otherwise, go mac once you go mac for audio production you never go back.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

They most definitely do not.

A clevo with a desktop CPU is up your alley. If you want stability, mythlogic is probably the best bet for unlocked custom sBIOS & vBIOS. Eurocom offers the same sBIOS/vBIOS but are more expensive.

And as others say, a strong CPU won't outright prevent crashing.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
