Demand for GTX 1070 has taken down EVGA's Website

As hilarious as this sounds :D the website is actually down ever since it turned 6 AM PDT. I can't actually believe they didn't anticipate something like this would happen. I think they might have done it on purpose to build up even more demand. :D I for one will pick one up from Amazon once they get there.  What about you guys, where are you picking yours from? And does it have international shipping?

I added one to my cart from the EVGA website, but I never made it in further than that. I guess I'll just wait till other sites have it posted.

Yeah. I for one don't like the idea of drooling for them. I believe they might have done that on purpose so that people will rush like crazy when they see a card no matter how much it costs.

Well there is a reason the 970 manage to become used by 5% of the users on steam, the price bracket is great and the price to performance is great. 1070 though a little more expensive is still within that bracket and still a great value based on the numbers we have.

Also noticed that EVGA website is down.

But I saw GTX 1070 SC in stock lol

 

I wonder when can we expect that SC version of GTX 1070 in EU :) 

 

Prices in EU are mostly as expected ... 25% higher than US.

i think, like the 1080, there's a limited amount of cards. nvidia's trying to rain on amd's parade. bet amd has enough cards to compete with demand on release.

Already ordered FE from NVIDIA, but checked just for fun and it sure is down, lol. Might cancel order though if I can manage to checkout with the SC ACX 3.0 card.

I am holding myself off of that FE card. :D I'm looking for a stock GTX 1070 to be as close to 379$ MSRP and then I can overclock it myself should I need to do it.

£399 for the FE in the UK. And it seems UK based websites are also having a problem with the amount of people accessing their sites. Amazon still say they're unavailable and it appears that some sites are charging well more than the base £399. I'm seeing upwards to £489.99 for board partner cards. Which I thought would be cheaper...?

It's because there isn't stock of them yet, so sellers are trying to scalp people. Wait until price goes down until you buy one, they're not supposed to be insanely high.

I can easily get impatient because my GTX 275 wont run the 32" monitor I have. Plus it has no HDMI port so I got all sorts of cables and converters and still can get it to power up the display.

Similar issues occurred on the GTX 1080 launch, it took me a couple hours to finally get my 1080 because of it.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

They had a few SC's on there. I tried to get one (I wasn't planning on OCing much, just wanted better cooling), but I got to the "Add to Cart" button about 15 times and the site timed out every time. oh well

Newegg had the Gigabyte 1080 FE coupled with a mouse in a combo and immediately available for shipment this morning...

 

If I wasn't holding out for either the MSI 1080 Sea Hawk or EVGA 1080 Hybrid I'd have pulled the trigger immediately...and I'm still tempted to do so, but I want a liquid cooler of some sort of it.
